The report analyzes the readiness levels of OCCUS technology in the shipping industry. The technology readiness level (TRL) is high across the supply chain, while the investment readiness level (IRL) and community readiness level (CRL) remain low due to the undetermined economic viability of OCCUS and lack of regulation and policy.\u00a0<\/p><p>Four key themes have been identified to move OCCUS adoption forward:<\/p><p>1. Market maturity<\/p><p>2. Policy regulation and standards<\/p><p>3. Effectiveness<\/p><p>4. The shipping industry's role in the global carbon industry<\/p><p>The report emphasizes the need for economic cases for various stakeholders and infrastructure scaling and investment to settle on a small number of onboard and offloading solutions that can become industry standards.<\/p><p>Within the Green Marine project, several technologies are investigated to support the<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); font-size: var(--vk-size-text);\">\u00a0shipping industry's journey toward zero carbon emissions. Alternative solutions for carbon capture and storage onboard ships, including post-combustion capture, with options for liquid, gaseous, or solid storage will be explored.
