{"id":1503,"date":"2026-09-30T12:55:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T12:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greenmarine-project.eu\/?p=1503"},"modified":"2026-09-30T14:01:01","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T14:01:01","slug":"participation-at-the-4th-shipping-and-environment-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greenmarine-project.eu\/index.php\/2026\/09\/30\/participation-at-the-4th-shipping-and-environment-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Participation at the 4th Shipping and Environment Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are thrilled to share that the Virtual Reality application developed for the Green Marine Project was recently featured at the 4th Shipping and Environment Conference, which took place at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden!<br><br>As part of the project\u2019s mission to advance maritime sustainability, Dimitrios Sykas from the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, University of Strathclyde presented the latest Green Marine news and demonstrated an in-house developed VR application that provides an immersive #360\u00b0 exploration of CalMac Ferries Limited MV Coruisk. This application aids in visualising and building familiarity with the ship\u2019s engine room, stabiliser room, and additionally provides external views during the vessel's drydocking, enhancing the project\u2019s planned retrofit operations.<br><br>It was incredibly rewarding to see the enthusiasm for how digital solutions like VR can actively support the shipping sector's transition to more sustainable practices.
