Access<\/strong> paper has been published in the <strong>Ocean Engineering<\/strong> journal under the title <strong>\"Techno-economic and environmental assessment of carbon capture solutions in maritime transportation\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2693 Key Insights<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently, <strong>chemical absorption<\/strong> is the most mature technology for carbon capture onboard ships, achieving capture rates above <strong>90%<\/strong> and capture costs as low as <strong>EUR 163.07\/t<sub>CO2<\/sub><\/strong>, though energy demand and onboard integration remain significant hurdles.<\/li>\n\n<li>Emerging technologies, such as <strong>membranes <\/strong>and <strong>carbon solidification<\/strong>, show promise and are currently in preliminary development phases.<\/li>\n\n<li>Moving forwards, focus should be put on <strong>advanced materials<\/strong>, system <strong>efficiency enhancement<\/strong>, and the integration of
